ITAC Assessments

ITAC assessments are in-depth evaluations of a facility conducted by engineering faculty with upper class and graduate students from a participating university. After a remote survey of the plant, the team conducts a one or two-day site visit to take engineering measurements. The team performs a detailed process analysis to generate specific recommendations with estimates of costs, performance, and payback times.

During Pre-Assessment, our team will request 12 consecutive months of utility bills for electric, natural gas, and water. Any information on the processes, waste streams, or other important information for energy management is valuable as well.

Assessments are usually one day site visits. Upon arrival, we present a summary of your utility data as it currently stands along with trends and observations. We then tour the plant looking for any opportunities for energy, pollution, and cost savings. After the initial walkthrough, we will then discuss with your team ideas for potential recommendations. If more information is needed, we will then collect any final data before departing.

We will compile all utility analysis and potential recommendations into a final report. Each recommendation will provide estimations for both cost and energy savings, as well as implementation costs and projected maintenance

We are required to send out implementation surveys to measure the success of our assessments. These only take a few minutes to complete and we greatly appreciate your input!
